Regarding the rising cases of corona in the country and the vaccination situation in the country, the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that there are 10 districts across the country with the most active cases - Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur. , Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Bangalore Urban, Nanded, Delhi and Ahmednagar. The weekly national average positivity rate is 5.65 percent. Maharashtra's weekly average is 23 percent, Punjab's weekly average is 8.82 percent, Chhattisgarh's 8 percent, Madhya Pradesh's 7.82 percent, Tamil Nadu's 2.50 percent, Karnataka's 2.45 percent, Gujarat's 2.2 percent and Delhi's 2.04 percent.

The total number of active cases in the country has increased to 5,40,720. It is more than 4 percent. The death toll is 1,62,000. The recovery rate is 94 percent. Of the 10 districts with the highest number of active cases, 8 of them are in the district of Maharashtra. 

He said that we have spoken to the representatives of the states and asked why the tests are not being extended even as the cases are increasing, it is necessary to increase the test with focus on RTPCR test.

Rajesh Bhushan said that we found that isolation is not happening in most of the states. People are being asked to isolate at home, but this needs to be monitored to see if they are actually doing so. If they cannot, they must be institutionally isolated. Delhi is able to bring the number under control through this.

 The Health Secretary said that Punjab was neither able to conduct sufficient number of investigations nor was able to send people infected with the corona virus in immediate isolation. In states and union territories where cases of corona virus infection are increasing, the investigation needs to be expedited.

Rajesh Bhushan said that from April 1, all people above 45 years of age will be eligible for vaccination. Advance appointment can be booked through cowin.gov.in. If you do not wish to do so, you can register on-site after 3 pm by visiting your nearest vaccination center.

On the current corona situation in the country, Dr. VK Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog said that we are facing an increasingly serious and intense situation in some districts, but the entire country is potentially at risk. All efforts should be made to stop the virus and save lives.
